We are having a picnic at La Jolla Cove.  Hello to all.  As you can see my 2nd parents were in town last week.  I was happy to have some company over Johnson's birthday.  I am a party, but I don't know if I am enough for a birthday party.  We dragged them all over San Diego, which we are getting pretty good at doing now that we have lived here for a year.  I think that being a resident for a year makes us official San Diegoans.   If there is such a thing.  We went to a Padres game, Coronado, Birch Aquarium, and of course the beach.  Aja slept in our room in a pac-in-play while they were here.  That little trick is not working out so good anymore.  She would wake up at the butt-crack of dawn.  Which I am sure at this point in her own room she would either fall back asleep or play in her crib for a while.  But in our room, the first thing she sees is mom and dad in there ready to play.  So for the first time I got used to a child who actually wakes up in the morning.  I better get used to it.  Aja is almost walking.  You probably all think, it is about time.  And you are right.  I am getting tired of carrying her around.  Even though she is still a light 21 pounds.  But that still wares on your arm after a mile boulevard walk!   She does not seem to concerned about walking.  We got her a walker to help speed up the process, and it has helped.  She is starting to copy words that I say, they don't sound perfect but she is trying.  She also has made an attachment to a fuzzy blanket.  She hugs it, crawls up and lays on it, and it is starting to seem she could not sleep without it.  Her love for it is cute, but I may have to cut her off soon.  Oh, it is so sad to take away something your child loves so much.  I will have to do the same trick with a binkie that Missy whipped out on Hadley.  Missy, let me know how it goes.  Things are great here, I hope everyone is doing great.  I love looking at all your blogs.  You are way to diligent at keeping them packed with updates.

Does this look like natural talent or what?  I would watch the news every night if this guy was on it.  Eric got a second job...goofing around at the Birch Aquarium where they let you do a news cast.  It was highly amusing as you could imagine.  Never a dull moment with the Johns!

We went to Phil's BBQ for Eric's 29 (ya that is not a typo) birthday.  This place has the most divine ribs.  I was never much of a rib fan until I ate here.  And now I crave it on a weekly basis.  MMM, if Aja weren't taking a nap I would go get some take out right now.

My fav temple.  It was so nice to get to do a session.  Now that I am a Mom it does not happen often enough.  Oh, this temple brings back memories of college road trips with USU buddies!  This is the place me and Eric first confessed our major like for each other.

Aja is cheering for the padres.

We went to a padres game, this stadium is awesome.  It is in the middle of the city, right by the bay.  Every game I have gone to has a mist from the ocean.  We left this game at 10 innings because Eric had to get to bed for work the next day.  It ended up going 22 innings, which is close to the record 23!  Which means the score was 0 to 0 until the 22 inning.  The padres ended up losing.  Yea, not a lot of action in this game.  It was still fun though.

We are on Coronado island and you can see San Diego City across the bay.  This is the bay that they do the Red Bull airplane show.  I really want to go see it this year.
